Running a short marketing retro

A thirty minute retrospective format that turns each campaign into lessons for the next one.

OppRise Editorial · Reviewed 28 September 2026 · 3 min read

When to hold one

Hold a retro within a week of a campaign ending, while details are fresh. Thirty minutes is enough for most teams.

Three questions

Ask everyone to answer before the meeting so quieter voices are heard.

  • What worked that we should repeat?
  • What slowed us down?
  • What will we change next time?

End with owners

Each change gets one owner and a date. Store the notes where the next campaign brief will be written so the lessons are in front of the team when it matters.
