The problem with changing everything
When a new ad has a different image, headline and offer, a win tells you nothing about which change mattered. You cannot repeat a result you cannot explain.
A sensible testing order
Test the elements with the biggest likely effect first.
- Offer or angle
- Hook or opening line
- Main visual
- Call to action
- Smaller details such as colour or button wording
Record the learning, not just the winner
Write each result as a sentence, for example: problem led hooks beat feature led hooks for cold audiences. That sentence is useful long after the ad is paused.
